10 Gallant Artists Converge At Randy Ortiz’ 30th Anniversary Show

If there is only one word to describe Randy Ortiz, it will be “revolutionary”. The moment he elevated menswear in Philippine fashion by impeccably mixing a variety of prints and colors, his art has continuously teemed the country’s fashion scene up to this day. Perhaps that’s why if you describe his works as merely “beautiful,” it is actually an understatement; his creations are the concrete manifestations of his understanding of the Filipino heritage and the globalist spirit.

After gaining national prominence in the early 90s, he is now celebrating his 30th anniversary in the industry. His mastery of marrying modern sophistication with classic elegance has always been evident in his collections. In fact, we have witnessed such exquisite creations from countless of stars that he garbed before—from Kris Aquino, Lucy Torres-Gomez, to Dingdong Dantes.

On his upcoming anniversary fashion show, the veteran designer chose to collaborate with The Artologist Gallery, and created another ingeniously creative collection titled, “Homage.” To make this celebration even more grand, 10 fine artists—namely Judeo Herrera, Julmard Vicente, Hiro Kawabata, Adam Nacianceno, Monnar, Fernando Antimano, Eman Santos, Dost Pilar, Valen Valero, and Carlo Saavedra—will converge to honor Ortiz as an artist, philantrophist, and a visionary.

His show will also showcase the true “spirit” of his creations which are all about paying tribute to his homeland. He will highlight traditional or indigenous fabrics like the pińa and other hand-woven textiles of the national minorities and the traditional embroideries.

The Homage collaboration of Randy Ortiz and the Artologist Gallery will be unveiled on November 26, 2018.
