Miss Toledo‘s tenacity makes her a beacon of inspiration and strength, and her experience is a springboard for marginalized children from her hometown that they, too, must be provided with quality and inclusive education.
Mary Rose Andal Guiral, Naic
Raised in an orphanage, Mary Rose Andal Guiral is the picture of determination born of misfortune and struggles. However, her peregrination has not hindered her from reaching for the universe in her hands. Carving her own path in education and service, the queen’s road to flourishing is marked by a courageous spirit and an altruistic heart. Through these values, Miss Naic has advocated for agricultural innovation and education to alleviate poverty in the country. Now armed with an NC2 certification for welding, Mary Rose is proof that your past does not define your future; though it shapes and forms how you move and navigate life.
Anita Rose Gomez, Zambales
Surviving the ripples of poverty and living within the basic means of survival, Anita Rose Gomez is who she is today—a queen of grit and endurance—because of her past. “Despite my situation, I dared to dream big,” she tells the nation in her HER STORY video. While juggling various jobs on the side, Anita pursued and persisted to complete her schooling. Her desire to support individuals who had similar challenges inspired her to champion her cause and initiative, Para Kay Juan at Juana. Now, as an advocate for transformative education, she hopes to contribute positively to the world to create a future where opportunity and equality are the norm.
