Sharon Cuneta
As they say, mothers have their unique instinct; one of which is to shield their children away from judgments from every corner. This type of unconditional love is the one we see in Sharon Cuneta’s relationship with her daughter, Miel Pangilinan. It was in June of last year when Miel got real with her gender identity to the public—she identifies herself as queer. In Miel’s Instagram caption, she was grateful to her family and friends for their support and love when she was in the process of exploring and learning more about herself. The Megastar then reposted and even said, “I am proud of my children and ALL MY CHILDREN ARE PERFECT. I love you, my Miel.”
K Brosas
K Brosas is a proud single mother, and her commitment to her daughter Crystal’s well-being was even more seen in her birthday vlog posted on YouTube. In the video, the comedian expressed that she was already aware of her daughter’s gender identity. However, Crystal hid it from the public eye for a long time. That’s why the entire 10-minute video was a very emotional one filled with honesty and love between an accepting mother and an open daughter.
Anabelle Rama
Anabel Rama has a reputation for being a stern mother. However, when it comes to her children, this celebrity mom is known all the more loving and supportive. Having a son who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, we can see that based on Anabelle Rama’s interviews and social media posts, she loves her children equally, no matter their gender identity. Her virtue of acceptance as a mother flows naturally beyond her strong image on TV.
Jackie Lou Blanco
Veteran actress Jackie Lou Blanco is all about respect and acceptance towards her eldest child, Ricky Mae, who came out as a lesbian. She has always been a proud parent and her virtue of acceptance shows that even mothers who belong to an older generation can take a shift of mindset about gender identity and acceptance.
Sheryn Regis
Sheryn Regis went public about her being a lesbian last 2021 as she is in a relationship with Mel Di Guia. Meanwhile, the singer and actress opened up that when it comes to her daughter Sweety, she also feels the same thing about acceptance. In a recent episode of Magandang Buhay, her daughter opened up about her sexuality in a video message to her mom. Sweety said that it was her mom’s courage that inspired her to also come out as a bisexual, and she is proud of how Sheryn represents the LGBTQ+ community as a public personality.
