Show up to any major event as the best version of yourself by following these five wellness practices
When achieving wellness is your goal, your daily healthy habits should stay consistent, especially leading up to a major event where you need to be in tip-top shape mentally and physically. Wellness has many facets, such as physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual, so there’s really no one-size-fits-all approach to being healthy. However, these five basic wellness practices are sure to make you feel prepped and primed for any major event, be it a gala or sports event.
Get your nutrients in
One surefire way to jeopardize your social battery before your event even begins is to undereat beforehand. Lacking food and water in your system can make you feel de-energized and irritable, and leave your skin looking dull. Hydrating and eating balanced meals like hearty power bowls on the days leading up to your event can go a long way in making you feel ready to conquer the day ahead.

Mind-body exercises
Staying on track with your fitness is important, too. If mind-body exercises like yoga and pilates are completely new to you, consider trying them out on the days leading up to your event. If you’re already exercising this way, perhaps lengthen your regular session by some minutes to up the ante. In any case, performing mind-body exercises will help to make you feel stronger and more grounded.

Sound baths
As we may all know by now, meditation helps to reduce your stress and increase your mindfulness. Adding sound to this practice through sound baths, on the other hand, can elevate your meditation experience. Some ways you can do a sound bath are through guided meditation, using singing bowls on your own, or simply listening to an audio recording of one.

Stimulate your brain
Your intellectual wellness shouldn’t be forgotten, especially if the event you’re preparing for is a social event where talking with new people is a given. Leading up to your event, we suggest stimulating your mind with some brain exercises like puzzles and reading up on current events and other special interests like art and fashion. Do anything you need to do to keep your mind sharp and active.
Sleep well
Finally, don’t forget to sleep well. An adult needs at least seven hours of uninterrupted sleep a night to stay healthy. Not only will a lack of sleep affect your mood and overall health, but researchers also say that “chronic poor sleep quality is associated with increased signs of intrinsic aging, diminished skin barrier function, and lower satisfaction with appearance.”
