If some Korean series have left you with a thrilling experience, this new set of stories is ready to bring you to the world that celebrates art. To narrow it down, here are five must-watch K-Dramas to accompany you on your creative journey.

1. Proving that your creative vision is possible

Our Beloved Summer stars Choi Woo Shik who plays a creative genius who once dreamed of having his own peaceful space as an artist. He managed to achieve this dream and become one of the most famous artists in South Korea, owning a distinct style. One particular scene in the drama showed how he confidently proved the originality of his work compared to another artist who copied it. This scene will resonate with many independent creatives who want to believe in their own abilities and not be shaken by negative comments from others.

2. Letting you appreciate the creative process

Nevertheless is one of the K-Dramas that can change your perspective on sculpture completely. You will learn to admire the design and appreciate the difficult process of creating one sculpture. Song Kang’s portrayal of Park Jae-Eon as a university student majoring in art makes a nice partnership with Han So-Hee as Yu Na-Bi as they create a masterpiece made out of love.

3. Sparking the inspiration within

More Than Friends may be a bit underrated, but itโ€™s definitely one of the best K-Dramas to spark oneโ€™s creativity. In this series, Lee Soo takes us on a journey of exploring Korea through the lens of a camera, while Woo-Yeon, a freelance calligrapher, teaches us to never give up on our passion and keep creating. At first glance, the story can be assumed to be a romantic drama, but it is actually a story of encouragement for creatives out there who strive to make a name for themselves. The story shows how Woo-Yeonโ€™s calligraphy postcard was unexpectedly seen by a famous author in a random bookstore. Her character proves that there is always a time for an artist to have the spotlight on them and their work.

4. Rediscovering your inner artist

Another underrated K-Drama story is Todayโ€™s Webtoon. The story introduces the passionate editors and authors of the webtoon industry. The drama will follow Kim Sejeong as On Ma Eum, a former judo athlete who takes a job in the editorial department at Neon Webtoon and faces challenges on her path to becoming an editor in South Korea’s fiercely competitive webtoon business.

You can see a glimpse of how hard the job of editors is as they are the ones who keep tabs on the latest developments in the business, coordinate with the webtoon authors under their supervision, and put in extra effort to ensure that the webtoon chapters are uploaded on schedule. And beyond their work descriptions, these editors also encourage their artists to never give up on their talent despite facing struggles such as creative block and problems with their personal lives.

5. Bridging obstacles between vision and reality

Dali and Cocky Prince can make artists realize that being creative is not just about books and art references. It is important to note that art also involves strategic thinking so that more people can appreciate your work. In making these ideas happen, a resourceful businessman named Kim Min Jae, who lacks education in art, and the elite director of an art museum, Park Gyu Young, meet in a very unexpected circumstance. Despite being complete opposites in the industry, the two make a great partnership as Kim Min Jae helps Park Gyu Young rebuild her art museum.
