5 Style Trends We’re Taking Note of From the Academy Awards

By

From the classic black and white to striking colors, we gathered five trends that the celebrities wore at the Academy Awards

To end the awards show night on a high, it was only a matter of time until we were flooded with after party fits. A new line of ensembles made their way down the carpet, as well as new faces from the modeling, music, and film industry who arrived in their respective designer looks. It wasn’t a surprise that we came across recurring trends, and we’re here to list down five styles we saw at both the Oscars and the after party.

Ethereal white

White was definitely a favorite at the Oscars as Michelle Yeoh arrived in a soft wispy white dress decorated with single strands of appliques, while Hunter Schafer showed off her toned figure with an ultra sultry ensemble that featured a feather covering her bust and a silky maxi skirt that gracefully fell on her figure. Meanwhile, Kelsey Merritt arrived in a body-hugging piece that had beadings peeping through the neckline down to the waist.

Modern in black

Black takes the second spot for both ensembles at the awarding and after party. Ashley Graham went to the show in a black number that had quite a lot of finish to it, Behati Prinsloo opted for a sleek black dress reminiscent of 50s with its neckline, and Sophie Turner had a similar bolero feel to that of Graham’s.

Bold vivids

These bold looks were a contrasting style compared to the classic black and white, but it definitely was a good balance. Kate Hudson had on a striking pink hue, Janelle Monae came with her neon orange skirt, and Gigi Hadid’s red couture gown had pleats from top to bottom.

Sequined from head to toe

Sequins are a favorite when it comes to any event, so it’s no surprise to see them make their way down the Oscars and after party. During the ceremony, actresses Ariana de Bose and Jamie Lee Curtis both sported light sequined dresses, while Gabrielle Union arrived at the after party in a sultry black dress that had subtle detail from the construction, which accentuated her figure.

Lovely rosettes

Roses were a favorite decor at the Oscars, and they even varied in size and color. At the ceremony, Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry showed us how it’s done in such different looks with their black and white numbers. Meanwhile, Suki Waterhouse kept it neutral with her silver sequined dress that sported a large rose by her shoulders.
