6 Times SZA Proved That She’s the Queen of Cozy-Chic Style

R&B singer and all-around cool girl, SZA, put herself on the map with her widely successful debut record, CTRL. Although she has been in the music scene since 2011, the world discovered her creative talent and musical prowess after the debut of her first studio album. Now she’s having quite the stellar year, having just won her first Billboard award for Top R&B Female Artist and unveiling a music video for song “Garden (Say It Like Dat) featuring Childish Gambino in the dreamy visual.

If you’ve been following the 27-year-old on Instagram, you would know that she regularly sports streetwear get-ups for shows and appearances. What we love most about SZA, however, is that her tour and press ensembles authentically resonate with her own casual, everyday style. After scrolling through her feed, we were inspired to channel a cozy-chic style.

Below, see all the cool, comfy looks we love from the R&B songstress:

Sporting her signature bedhead, SZA draped her Tommy Hilfiger overalls with a white tank top and a gray flannel. The best thing about SZA’s style is her ability to turn an ordinary, unpolished outfit into something cool.
Going all verdant, SZA schools us on how to layer outerwear and coordinating pieces well. She pairs ripped jeans and a matching denim jacket with a graphic tee and tops it off with an oversized camo jacket and chunky sneakers.
Who says you can’t combine normcore and high fashion? SZA begs to differ. She elevated an ordinary errands day look with a pair of silver high heels.
Going for a more dressy approach, SZA channeled her best Rihanna-esque look with knee-high strappy heels and a slip dress with a thigh-high slit.
In her coolest Y-Project-inspired get-up, SZA performed at Jools Holland in a mesh top with a beige coat draped on her arms and paired it with beige chaps and a black skirt. For added comfort, she finished off the edgy ensemble with a pair of red Doc Martens boots.
A bold oversized outerwear is a great way to punch up a monochromatic outfit. Take a page from the singer’s assemblage and rock your gym co-ords by day and top it off with a bright jacket.
