Devin Booker is set to release his own signature kicks
Next in line to join the ranks of Nike’s NBA signature athletes is Devin Booker. The success of this fresh venture should come as no surprise given that this NBA great is widely considered one of the best shooting guards of his generation. Booker’s highly anticipated signature kicks are dropping soon, and they go by the name of Book 1. It features retro-styled upper paneling reminiscent of Nike Basketball’s output from the 1980s and will be available in black and gold hues.
“Kobe Bryant” Nike Air Force 1 Low is coming
Fans of late NBA legend Kobe Bryant can anticipate additional releases of his iconic sneakers as his wife and estate manager, Vanessa Bryant, renews their contract with Nike in 2022. Both zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files have reported that the next Nike Air Force 1 Low “Kobe Bryant” will release in a colorway inspired by the Lakers that combines “White,” “Varsity Maize,” and “Varsity Purple.” Although the pair’s specific colorway and style have yet to be revealed, they may be similar to the GS-exclusive drop from 2009. Nike is expected to release the Air Force 1 “Kobe Bryant” in the summer of 2024.
Is Nike working on a Powerpuff Girls-inspired SB Dunk Low?
Powerpuff Girls dunks are rumored to be on the way, continuing the recent trend of cartoons making an appearance in the world of footwear. If this will actually happen, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup will each have their own colorway in the expected Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low. Images of the “Blossom” colorway have actually surfaced, showing that it will be made of soft, high-quality materials and have a heel design covered in the large eyes that are a trademark of all three characters. Both Cartoon Network and Nike have not yet confirmed whether a Powerpuff Girls-inspired Nike Dunk is in the works.
Kyrie Irving has joined forces with ANTA
After being released by Nike last year, Kyrie Irving has secured a sneaker agreement with Chinese sports manufacturer ANTA. In a statement, Irving expressed that he is incredibly excited about this collaboration. “The first step in becoming partners is to share the same dreams, goals, and missions. ANTA’s rapid development over the years, openness to creativity, willingness to embrace family and teamwork, and expertise in areas like product innovation and manufacturing processes have left a remarkable impression on not just me but also my A11Even team, who will work side by side with me in creating something truly generationally special,” the Dallas Mavericks guard mentioned. The brand also sponsors the Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson and the Charlotte Hornets’ Gordon Hayward.
King James gives a sneak peek at LeBron 21
Images of the Nike LeBron 21 sneaker first appeared online a few months ago. But thanks to James’ recent Instagram photo, fans finally got their best look at the yet-to-be-released hoop sneaker. The Nike LeBron 21 continues the low-top solution launched with his 20th signature model, with a patent leather upper and a padded tongue that extends higher up the ankle. The technical details of the pair have not been provided, but their design is clearly influenced by the Nike Kobe 4 and Kobe A.D.
More dunks on Nike By You
Nike invites its customers to straight-up elevate the flavor game in the Dunk universe through Nike By You, which is the brand’s online customization platform. Nike has expanded the design options for the tongue, mid-panel, and Swoosh logo from the standard leather to include recycled twill and recycled satin. The toe, the heel, and the lace collar are all affixed with leather. When it comes to outsoles, your choices are limited to solid white rubber, gum rubber, and five distinct Regrind patterns.
Vans goes full Barbiecore
The realm of sneakers is the next to feel the worldwide sway of Barbie. In the film, we see Barbie in a variety of professions, including that of a doctor, journalist, and chemist; yet, who would have guessed that she also has a passion for sneakers? Recently, Vans introduced a new take on four distinct pairs of shoes. It takes our classic low-top style and updates it with playful elements, including sun-kissed pinks, retro patterns, and subtle Off The Wall twists.
