We have our fingers crossed for these possible collaborations from the biggest and brightest actresses in different generations
Now more than ever, the boundaries set by show business are surely being tried and tested with the evolution of content creation and media consumption. For one, project narratives are shifting more of their plots to showcase different genres. Networks are also opening their gates to other artists and production staff for collaborations. If these are happening now, then the possibility of bringing talented actresses from different genres and generations together on screen is no longer a pipe dream.

Looking at what’s making headlines today, collaboration is indeed everywhere. In the world of fashion, beauty, and media, it is the best way to target a wider audience and have your brand or message across different platforms. But while it is something that we have been seeing for a long time in show business, there are still stars that we wish could be in one movie or series together.
Factoring in range, prowess, and possible storylines in the picture, here are the actress pairings that we hope to see in one project sooner or later:
Julia Montes and Nadine Lustre
In case you missed it, Julia and Nadine were supposed to work on an action-drama series called Burado last 2020. The big project was set to shoot in different countries with the actresses already shooting their look tests, but it was canceled due to the pandemic.
Both strong and skilled in their own right, we hope that Julia and Nadine can still work on another concept soon. Here’s to hoping that we will still see the two FAMAS awardees together again.
Vilma Santos and Julia Barretto
The Star for All Seasons once worked with Julia’s aunt, Claudine, in the 2000 classic film, Anak. Proclaiming the said movie as one of her favorites, Julia gushed about meeting Vilma for the first time in 2015. Now that she’s taking on more mature roles, it’s no surprise if Julia can go head to head with the veteran actress on confrontational scenes.
Judy Ann Santos and Xyriel Manabat
There’s a distinct refinement in your craft when you started young in the biz, and both Judy Ann and Xyriel have that. The two actresses first crossed paths in Xyriel’s first titular role on 100 Days To Heaven, and we’re all due for a reunion! Their natural expressions plus certain comedic charm call for a possible mother-daughter tandem packaged in a touching story.
Janella Salvador and Gabbi Garcia
The Janella and Gabbi tandem is just what we might need for a music-centric show or movie. These two are not just great performers, but they also share a common interest in old songs. Perhaps their joint project will involve their very own duet or rendition of a classic hit! Who knows, it may just turn into a series of collaborations along the way!
Angel Aquino and Janine Gutierrez
Angel and Janine may be co-starring in Dirty Linen as of writing, but it’s not too early to wish for a next project for the two right away! Given their Urian-awarded status, there’s no doubt that they will delight the audience with their performance. Dare we say pair them as love interests, yes?
Bea Alonzo and Andrea Brillantes
In one press conference for the show Kadenang Ginto, Andrea has already expressed her admiration for Bea. “Kilala po siya (Bea) bilang magaling na aktres dito sa Pinas. Gusto ko [rin] pong makilala bilang magaling na aktres,” Andrea responded to an interview question. The younger actress is definitely on her way to achieving that star actress status, and a project with Bea is a good addition to her roster of projects. Did you know that Bea also developed a fondness for Andrea before because of the former’s ex-boyfriend, Zanjoe Marudo? The actor and child star played a father-daughter role in the series, Analiza.
Angelica Panganiban and Marian Rivera
Beauty, humor, and spunk—these are just a few traits that both Angelica and Marian share as women. Should there be another cross network project between ABS-CBN and GMA, casting Angelica and Marian will guarantee a good time for their viewers. Now that they are actual mothers, too, maybe rival matriarchal roles can be in their on-screen story!
Heart Evangelista and Maja Salvador
Refined girly quirkiness best describes Maja and Heart’s auras on screen. And while the two actually joined forces for a vlog on love last year, we certainly hope that their collaboration doesn’t just end there. Fingers crossed for a comedy-drama-slash-fashion series with these beloved actresses!
Maricel Soriano and Kathryn Bernardo
Taking them away from their leading men, Maricel and Kathryn have proven that their acting chops need no male counterparts. Their run ins on their derma sessions and network events are not enough for us fans. We need an actual project for the two soon! With their joint experience in the industry, any genre will work for Maricel and Kathryn.
