2NE1 star and Filipina actress Sandara Park has part ways with Korean talent company YG Entertainment after 17 years in the business together.
Per a press release from YG Entertainment, the move comes after Sandara’s exclusive contract with the company has expired. She debuted with Korean girl group 2NE1 in 2009 after she gained success in the Philippines through the local talent show Star Circle Quest in 2004.
The group disbanded in 2016, and Sandara went on to make an impact in the Korean entertainment industry with the stage name Dara.
“We would like to share that YG Entertainment’s contract with Sandara Park has expired. We thank Sandara Park for staying with YG Entertainment for the last 17 years with special trust and love,” YG shared.
“[We] will continue to support [her] future endeavors, we are prepared to help her until she starts a new beginning.”
