Sam Verzosa is a jack of many trades—and he has learned to master them all

One way to deconstruct the many different layers of Sam Verzosa’s experience, obligations, and progression is through his style. Throughout his adolescent years, the civil engineering graduate from the University of the Philippines was exposed to hip-hop culture and explored life on the streets of Sampaloc, Manila. “I was absolutely fascinated by the music, fashion, and, more importantly, the hustle culture that defined hip-hop,” he recalls. “To this day, those powerful lyrics serve as great motivators for me.”
By the time he became a successful businessman—especially after putting up the multilevel marketing company (MLM) Frontrow, with business partner RS Francisco—he was filling his closet with luxury streetwear pieces from brands like Versace, Louis Vuitton, and Dior. Recently, he and his brother Sam Verzosa III started their own clothing brand called, SV Merch, inspired by urban culture. Years after his first taste of success, in 2022, he won a seat in Congress. Now, he mixes street style with formal wear, “with a touch of hip-hop and K-Pop.” It’s a reflection of how the man loves to have fun, but when duty calls, he is nothing but focused.
Another way of deconstructing Verzosa is by asking him about the whys and hows of his numerous ventures. They come from different worlds, but they serve one of his core values.
“There’s a common denominator in how I conduct my business and public service affairs: purpose,” he tells MEGA Man. “When we started Frontrow, we were not entirely a monetary-driven company. I think that’s what separated us from other MLM companies. Ever since the beginning, everything that I have done has always been about uplifting the lives of other people, and that purpose still resonates with my public service goals and views.”
