The rigorous selection for the next crop of Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens is over. With that, the names of the 40 binibinis who passed their final screening were announced just last February 6. After a series of evaluations led by Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman and current Binibining Pilipinas titleholders, the official number of candidates was filtered from 65 applicants down to the final 40.
Proving to us the intense and competitive selection process, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. made last minute changes and added five more names to the roster. This unexpected twist was a general agreement by the selection board, facing the challenge of choosing the final candidates amongst many talented, intelligent, and beautiful women vying for the coveted spots.
Interesting facts about some candidates
Jessie Salvador’s name is making waves on social media as one of the official candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2023. She is a model under Crown Artist Management and the sister of Eat Bulaga host and well-known actress Maja Salvador. On her Instagram post, the actress-turned-beauty queen looks forward to her new journey in the pageant scene. In one of her interviews, she also mentioned that her sister is very supportive of her dream and that she is thankful for everyone who believes that she has what it takes to be a beauty queen.
Another official candidate who attracts the attention of Filipino pageant fans is IWant TV host Kiara Giel. She is no stranger to the local pageant scene as her credentials include her reign as Miss Philippines Air 2016. Pageant fans anticipate what a hopeful like Kiara has to offer on the pageant stage. However, the reigning Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2022, Roberta Angela Tomandong will be the lone beauty queen to keep her crown shining bright as she will be the last candidate for the title after BPCI’s withdrawal from the MGI franchise. As the Binibining Pilipinas titleholders are now preparing to make way for a new generation of beauty and grace, the anticipation for this momentous occasion continues to heighten.
