From music to fashion, a temporary break isn’t stopping the K-Pop group from making waves as they venture into their solo projects
The members of BTS seem as if they’re at their busiest season as they venture into solo projects amidst their hiatus. Undoubtedly, it’s the perfect period to pursue individual careers since they’re enjoying what it means to be a solo artist for the time being. Despite continuously sweeping the charts and breaking records as a group, they’re definitely making waves in the fashion industry as each member joins different global brands and labels.
While there are some who have yet to announce their partnership with a renowned designer or House, we’re here to help you keep track of the members’ latest fashion ventures, as well as some predictions as to where they’re heading next.
Jungkook for Calvin Klein
After trending on social media since February, Calvin Klein officially announced that Jungkook is the new global ambassador, with the brand having teased the fans since Sunday. Laid-back, relaxed, and versatile—the artist expressed in his recent livestream that he’s been an avid fan of the brand and it only makes sense for him to join Calvin Klein since he often buys some pieces for himself. It’s definitely fitting for Jungkook since his usual style leans towards anything rugged with comfort.
V for Celine
It’s been known that V is part of Celine’s roster of artists, but he officially became a brand ambassador when it was announced just last March 15. A signature style of the singer is his take on structure and sleek with a balance of loose and casual. But with his modelesque figure and sharp features, he’s definitely the right fit for Celine’s aesthetic.
J-Hope for Louis Vuitton
Amongst the members, J-Hope isn’t afraid to put a little quirk in his style. Whether it’s a cheeky addition of a sling bag or his eye for mixing contrasting colors with his usual outfits, the rapper enjoys the playful side of fashion, which we’ve seen over the years. So it’s no surprise to see Louis Vuitton’s announcement last February 24, appointing him to become their global ambassador with their new take on menswear that veers towards anything out of the ordinary.
Jimin for Christian Dior
If J-Hope goes for the playful, Jimin is known for his versatility with feminine and masculine styles. With his petite frame and soft features, the singer was often styled with a delicate touch that often consists of lighter tones to cropped hems—an ideal match for Christian Dior. An announcement that was made last January 16, the French house’s expertise in incorporating soft and structured stylistic elements in their designs, we are confident to say that this BTS member pulls it off elegantly.
Suga for Valentino
A day after the Dior news of Jimin, Valentino made their own report on Suga joining their roster of ambassadors. While the rapper’s style is definitely more on the casual and structured look, he expressed in an interview that one of the reasons why he signed up for the ambassadorship was because of their advocacy for diversity.
RM for Bottega Veneta
He made his first fashion week appearance for Bottega Veneta during Milan Fashion Week that happened last February 24. Compared to the other members, RM’s aesthetic is anything and everything comfortable, which makes sense since the current creative direction of the Italian fashion House is basic yet stylish essentials in one’s wardrobe. And just today, March 30, Bottega Veneta Creative Director Matthieu Blazy posted a photo of the rapper dressed in casuals with a caption that says, “Welcome to the Family!” making all the rumors turn into official news.
Jin
The eldest of the group is currently completing his military enlistment, so we’re making some predictions for the meantime. His style has a youthful vibe to it with his usual combination of plain tees and trousers, as well as vivid sweaters and jeans—making his already youthful appearance even fresher. This is why we understand his love for Thom Browne and their peculiar take on suits, which he expressed in previous interviews. Besides Thom Browne, he also loves his pair of Louis Vuitton slides in purple with an iridescent finish. Whether it’s Thom Browne or Louis Vuitton, one thing’s for sure—fashion Houses are waiting for the singer’s comeback so they can immediately have him in their roster of ambassadors.
