Belle Mariano Interprets the Star Magical Prom Theme in Multiple Ways

By

As this generation’s it-girl, Belle Mariano is winning our hearts with not just one, but four looks inspired by the Star Magical Prom theme

Merry is the prom where the queen reigns mighty. Cementing her influence in not just her craft, but also in fashion, Belle Mariano showcased her style power at last night’s Star Magical Prom. While one look made it to the actual event, the actress and her team actually curated a number of looks inspired by the book-slash-series, Bridgerton

MEGA breaks down each look and its elements that fit the Regency period, as well as the spring of a new era in Star Magic. With that said, here are Belle’s regal ensembles fit just for her royal status:

Tip-of-the-hat fashion

Belle surprised her fans by dropping what everyone thought would be her final look for the night. In the words of designer Francis Libiran, the blush pink pleated gown is a symbol of “understated elegance.” The actress also wore a big, elaborate hat that pays homage to this key element for Regency style of the past.

Elaborate construct

The said epoch’s architectural elements consist of pastel facades, detailed grandeur, and significant flamboyance. Libiran brings this into clothing with a mint green and lavender ball gown with a sweetheart neckline. The piece had an assortment of beads that brought the chandelier’s glass details into the fabric as well.

Breathing floral language

Last night’s occasion bloomed in a literal sense with the assortment of flowers spread all over the venue. While this may signify the flourishing of new talents, bouquets are actually part of the Regency period’s influence. Floral arrangements can mean opulence to many, and a mark of a new life for brides. Belle embodies the bouquet’s essence in an off-shoulder gown in light shades of pink and purple.

Feathered to rule

Belle’s last look to debut, which also made it into the actual event, is a white and black masterpiece that mimics the actress’ personal, fun style. The proclaimed prom queen’s fashion is anchored on classic simplicity with a twist, and this is evident on the ostrich feather-play of the look. While this period is known for incorporating the particular element into hats, both the actress and designer break this stereotype by bringing it into the other half of the gown. The empire silhouette may be part of the Regency trademark, but Libiran opted for a cut just below Belle’s hips to highlight her shape and newfound definition of feminine fun.
