In an official announcement made by the organization, the multimedia superstar will have her own figure at the “Hong Kong Glamour Zone.” She will join Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Chris Hemsworth. It’s also worth noting that Anne is the first Filipino actress-host to have her own figure in the museum.
“I’m so happy it came at the right time,” she said, reacting to the news. “It is truly an honor. To have this dream come true, I’m grateful and very thankful to Madame Tussauds for choosing me.”
The It’s Showtime mainstay also shared the process of creating her statue coming this 2024. “Coming to the sitting, I thought they’ll be plastering my whole body and I had to stay completely still and lay down like a mummy. But it turned out to be so easy! I only had to stay still while they [took] 360-degree photos and measurements of me. The skill they’ve used to measure me was so impressive.”
Meanwhile, Midway Hong Kong and Merlin Entertainments General Manager Wade Chang expressed their own excitement about the news. “We’re happy to see the influx of Filipino tourists visiting Hong Kong every year. [The country] has become a top destination and we believe it’s important to continuously give them something to look forward to, and this is why we at Madame Tussauds are always delighted to recognize Filipino talent in our attraction,” he said.
As of writing, Anne is the fourth Filipino to have her own figure made by the museum, following Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray.
