Co-presenting the event, Luxe Slim prepared a well-deserved treat for the emerging champions of the first MEGA Drag: Luxe Battle Royale.
The drag community has always been home to a kaleidoscope of talents, perfectly encapsulating the charisma and creativity of the LGBTQIA+ community. In celebration of this, MEGA Drag wrapped up Pride Month celebrations with an all-out drag battle royale, where two drag houses and two solo performers representing various regions of the country and Singapore competed fiercely.
As we enter the month of July, we continue to proudly recognize the unique artistry of the entire community. With this, let us look back on MEGA Drag’s first-ever Pride Party, co-presented with Luxe Slim by Luxe Beauty and Wellness Group.
MEGA Drag Luxe Battle Royale
Kao Manila was alit with colors as the contestants lip-synched their hearts out in a three-round drag competition. Among the performers for the night were Empy Radora and Martha Amethyst from the House of Nak, Felicia Ding and Bomba Ding from the House of Ding, Davao’s Muah Dayaw, and Singapore’s MikaVogue.
Muah Dayaw and MikaVogue ate on stage with their slim fits and emotional performances but did not make it to the third round. Meanwhile, the House of Nak infused humor and energy into their opening numbers. House of Ding spiced things up with a remix of Little Mix Songs for the first round. Bomba Ding kicked things up a notch with her electrifying performance of ‘This is Me’ for the second round. Felicia Ding’s show-stopping performance in the third round earned top scores across the board. This inevitably marked them as victors of the first-ever MEGA Drag: Luxe Battle Royale.
Luxe Prizes
Eagerly joining judges Eva Le Queen, Nicole Cordoves, and BJ Pascual, Luxe Beauty and Wellness Group Chief of Staff RJ Macaraig comes up on stage to co-present the award to the House of Ding.
In addition to snatching the winning title, the House of Ding received a PHP 50,000 cash prize courtesy of Luxe Beauty and Wellness Group. Attendees of the event also went home as winners, with Luxe Slim sending them off with bags of products.
