Je t’aime, Paris—Bang Pineda returns to the runway after five years with a renewed fashion identity, courtesy of the city of love

If there’s a city that will change one’s fashion perspective, it’s definitely Paris, and Filipino designer Bang Pineda’s 60-piece collection is proof of this fact.
“I learned that creativity is not forced,” Pineda says as he revisits his time in the city of lights. “I learned that inspiration will come at the right time. My hiatus taught me to not rush and to be calm. It allowed me to find my true core.”
Though his last runway show before “State of Bang” was back in 2019, he considers this one is not really a comeback. “Because I never left,” he says. Instead, Pineda calls it an evolution of his style and designs. The collection is about his current state of mind, which is centered on his love of Paris, tennis and the ocean.
As seen in his previous collections, Pineda has consistently favored denim pieces. But this time around, he took inspiration from the vast blue waters—how the water changes color and how the waves change form.
Enter the new state of Bang Pineda in MEGA’s August 2024 issue, now available on Readly, Magzter, Press Reader and Zinio.
