Ever radiant and youthful even without the glitz, Francine Diaz went for a classic, less-is-more look at the Star Magical Christmas 2024

Holiday glam needn’t be a face full of glitters and all things extra to make a statement. Francine Diaz proved this at the Star Magical Christmas 2024, where minimalism was her weapon of choice and timelessness her ultimate holiday statement. With a bright lip and radiant-looking skin, she kept things classic while still embracing the whimsy of the season. Loudly Understated

For Francine’s look, the mission was clear: a whole lot of impact without the excess. Her makeup artist RB Chanco told MEGA that she just wanted to highlight the actress’ natural beauty without overdoing it. “I wanted to create a timeless look for Francine that reflected her signature style—effortless, natural, and glowing,” Chanco shared. This translates to minimal layers, resulting in skin that looks just like skin.

One may ask: why understated? Why not take the glitzy route just as other stars have? The answer was simple: balance. “Since Francine wore a red dress with a big sequined bow, which was already Christmas-themed, we wanted the makeup to complement those festive elements without being too literal,” she explained. It was a success at the end of the day—the perfect supporting act for her ensemble.

A closer look at Francine and one of the things that would certainly stand out is the skin. The secret? She never uses powder. “She believes it takes away from the natural luminosity of her skin, so we skip it completely,” the makeup artist said. They do a good prep in its stead: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. This goes before applying a lightweight foundation to let the skin breathe.

A key takeaway here: glamming up doesn’t always mean more.

Francine’s Beauty Formula

Much focus was placed on the glow. RB started with an ultra-hydrating base that prepped Francine’s skin. Then came a foundation that didn’t mask the skin’s texture but instead enhanced it. Following this was a cream contour and a liquid blush, adding warmth and life to the face while keeping everything dewy. Again, powders are off-limits for this duo, and we can see why there’s no need for it—a youthful glow for a youthful face.

When it came to the eyes, Francine wanted something bolder. “She wanted a sultry vibe without it being too dark or overly dramatic,” she explained. This was a clever choice—the bold eyes gave just the right edge to balance out the glow. They certainly contrasted what went on with the pout, which RB ended up painting in a youthful pop of red, tying together Francine’s youthful allure.

In Perfect Sync

The beauty creative revealed how hands-on Francine was in bringing this look to life. “She was very involved in creating her look for the Christmas Ball. When it came to her makeup, she trusted me to stay true to her preferences,” RB said. “What I love about working with Francine is how aligned our vision and dynamic are.”

That synergy between maker and muse is what birthed such a timeless yet festive look—proving that, when done right, less can certainly be more.
