After being postponed for a few months, the Miss World 2021 Grand Coronation night finally pushed through on March 17, 2022 in Puerto Rico. There were a total of 97 candidates for the big night, which makes it the smallest field of contestants since 2002. Despite this, the ladies gave their all out and charm to win the Miss World crown.
Miss World Philippines titleholder, Tracy Maureen Perez, was one of the candidate for the night. It was a long road for the Miss World hopeful. Eventually, she was able to snag a spot at the Top 13. With every stage in the pageant, Tracy showed great showmanship and beauty.
She was even able to wow the judges with her great sense of style throughout the entire night. From the national costume showcase to the evening gown segment, Tracy debuted stunning looks made by Filipino designers.
All of this is with the help of celebrity stylist, Francis Chee. The two worked on each look collaboratively with designers from all over the Philippines. For her evening gown look in particular, Tracy collaborated with Harvey Cenit. She wore a custom blue gown from his atelier. The gown was embroidered with blue crystals that formed Tracy’s beauty queen physique. She paired the look with heels from Jojo Bragais.
When asked about Tracy’s final look for the night, Francis said, “It was a collaborative project between Tracy Maureen Perez, my team, and the designer. We wanted a simpler and more modern look to differentiate her from the past Miss World Philippines representatives. Tracy Maureen Perez suggested the color of her final gown–– that would represent the organization, Miss World. She prayed for a sign and dreamt of a cobalt blue gown.”
The Grand Coronation culminated with a new Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland. This was followed by Miss USA, Shree Saini, and Miss Cote D’lvoire, Olivia Yacé. Tracy may have not won the crown, but she won over the crowd with her poise, wit, and style. She truly showed the true makings of a queen. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Maureen.
