Taking charge of their own narrative and love story, showbiz couple Sam Milby and Catriona Gray finally spoke up on the rumors circulating their relationship. Earlier today, their talent agency, Cornerstone, released a statement on behalf of the two.

“While it is true that Sam and Catriona are currently facing some challenges in their relationship, they are actively working on resolving these issues together,” it said. “We kindly request [everyone to respect] their privacy during this time as they navigate through this situation. We appreciate the concern and well wishes from all those who have shown support for the couple.”
Trouble in paradise?
A few days ago, showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz revealed in his vlog that according to their sources, Milby and Gray were no longer together. In fact, they had already broken up during the Miss Universe 2018’s birthday back in January. This shocked fans, which eventually led to a hopeful outlook, when their common friend Isabel Oli posted a photo of the two together in one of Cornerstone’s gatherings.
Since the announcement of another celebrity couple’s engagement turning sour, netizens also had their eyes on Sam and Catriona. From time to time, they would notice the supposed bride-to-be inconsistently wearing her engagement ring during appearances. Fans couldn’t help but also assume that they were the subject of blind items about another wedding put on hold.
Where admiration began
Before romance brewed between the beauty queen-host and the actor-singer, the latter had shown support for the Filipino representative in the Miss Universe stage. He dedicated a congratulatory post for Catriona after she bagged the crown in 2018. “Thank you for raising the flag for all Filipinos,” Milby wrote in his caption.

In 2020, Sam went for a double celebration on his birthday with a hard launch of their relationship. “Worth every second of the wait. Most special birthday yet,” he wrote, describing how turning 36 was extra special for him.
A shared love for life
Although they are both in the public eye, the two have managed to keep their relationship private with parts of it shared with their fans. Through their common love for art and travel, they had a couple of adventures together as well. In 2020, the couple released a track to help in the Quality Education for All campaign of Young Focus Philippines. Meanwhile, they also toured around Mauritius for a special series.
