What is Acubi Fashion and how do we get into it?
New fashion trends come and go as enthusiasts play around with various styles to create a “new look.” Although, the cycle either starts with a modernized past style or a culmination of two to three other trends. This is exactly what happened as the new K-Fashion Acubi style makes waves towards Western culture and Philippine fashion.
While the name is quite unique, the style actually came from the Korean brand called Acubi Club where they combined the subversive basics, cyber fairy grunge, and avant apocalypse in one look.
It’s the ultra basic and muted down look that keeps the essentials looking edgy and minimalist. The silhouette is reminiscent of the Y2K aesthetic, but the distinctive detail of this trend is that it’s more cohesive and mature-looking.
The Acubi style works within the boundaries of neutral colors such as white, black, and gray while the fit of the look works with the ones that complement your figure. This is where it gets personal because Acubi fashion displays the silhouette you have.
The usual combo of Acubi fashion is fit meets loose. Your top is supposed to fall loosely while the cut stops right by your waist to accentuate it. Meanwhile, the bottoms hug your waist and the fit leans towards the baggy finish.
It might seem like a simple look but that’s where the little details come in, from the neutral tones to the material being used and how you layer the pieces. You’ll see fellow Acubi enthusiasts wear a cut-out top layer, a mesh or sheer piece, as well as cropped jackets to better show off their figure.
