The good ‘ol gents have arrived once again serving us the right amount of dapper at the Oscars 2020 red carpet.
Much like their female counterparts who didn’t disappoint with their exclamation point worthy looks for the last time this awards season, the men made sure to equally standout. As it is the Academy Awards, it’s only expected that we will be witnessing a battle of the tuxes. Held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, the gents suited up in their most polished looks. From a classic crisp black tuxedo to a utilitarian suit ensemble, here are the best-dressed men on the red carpet.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Keeping things classic with a perfectly fitting black tuxedo is none other than the dashing man of Hollywood himself, Leonardo DiCaprio. While you may think that he’s only wearing the quintessential suit set, you have to consider his overall look—from how well it hangs on his body to how polished he is with his grooming.
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt has always been the man who’d opt for classic ensembles. And frankly speaking, he still never fails to mesmerize the ladies. As he values straightforward simplicity, he opted for a formal black velvet jacket accented with a shawl lapel, which was tied all together by a standard, well-proportioned bow tie.
Mahershala Ali
One awards night after another, Mahershala Ali always makes it to our best-dressed list—and we’re not complaining. The star just constantly stuns everyone with his suit choices. Case in point, he wore an exquisite Ermenegildo Zegna XXX complemented by a glint of gold jewelry for this special occasion.
Rami Malek
Proving that you can never go wrong with a monochromatic look, Rami Malek was a vision in black at the Oscars. He wore an all-black double-breasted Saint Laurent tuxedo by Anthony Vaccarello. The stand out? That precise wide lapel that is equal parts classic and contemporary.
Anthony Ramos
Now if others opted for a traditional outfit, Anthony Ramos begged to differ. Once he emerged on the red carpet, he immediately caught everyone’s attention. After all, who wouldn’t be captivated by the contrast of the black and white suit ensemble he wore, punctuated by a bejeweled neckpiece and studded leather shoes.
Omar Sharif Jr.
Adding a hint of hue on the red carpet amongst the male guests is Omar Sharif Jr. The actor wore a chocolate brown double-breasted suit paired with patent black slip-ons that truly evoked no less than class.
Timothée Chalamet
Defying the norm of the dress code-strict red carpet of the Oscars, Timothée Chalamet surprised us with his choice. There were a few who didn’t like it, but there were also a few who applaud his bold move for being risqué, wearing a navy blue utilitarian suit ensemble by Prada. Is this a signal of things to come with young Hollywood? We sure can’t wait for the new wave to wash over the age-old rigor.
