Can’t get over the Asia Artist Awards high? Here’s a quick round-up of what happened at the much-anticipated event
The 14th of December was without a doubt one of the most memorable nights if you’re a Filipino K-Fan. It’s already considered a historical event because not only did the Philippines host the Asia Artist Awards for the first time, but we were also surrounded by a wide variety of both local and international artists that are continuously making waves in their respective industries. It goes without saying that it was definitely a night we will never forget.

But if the event went by like a blur for you, which we can honestly relate with, then go ahead and reminisce with these highlights—from the red carpet to the main event.
HYBE Invasion
It’s a given that the lineup for the awards show was already intense, but there was an undeniable abundance of idols from HYBE, SEVENTEEN’s sub-unit BSS, girl groups NewJeans and Le Sserafim, and lastly, Japan boy groups &Team and BoyNextDoor. The record label definitely knows how to make their presence known, especially when these artists performed on stage.
SBTeam performance
Everyone knows SB19’s stage presence is incredibly strong, but the crowd went absolutely insane when &Team joined them on stage mid-performance of their hit single “Gento.” The interaction between the two groups was very much anticipated by the fans ever since the Japan boy group posted their own dance cover of SB19’s song on TikTok.
The award sweepers
The first half of the award show was mainly to recognize the artists in different categories, and a few of them made it to the cut almost every time. The four who were constantly called to the stage were NewJeans, Kim Seon Ho, Lim Young Woong, and Kim Sejeong.
SB19’s first Asia Artist Awards
As for the local celebrities, all of them received their own awards, but what’s worth mentioning is that this is actually the first time the Filipino boy group attended the Asia Artist Awards. It’s definitely one for the books because they won two awards alongside Ahn Hyo Seop for the Hot Trend Awards, and the Best Singer Award with Le Sserafim.
The NewJeans–Le Sserafim transition
Around two to three artists were lined up to perform for each intermission. And while everyone definitely killed the stage, it was iconic to see NewJeans exit the center stage only for Le Sserafim’s silhouette to go up at the back. This is the duo we knew we always needed.
Grand prize winners
The majority of the arena went silent while waiting for the grand prize winners—that is until NewJeans won both Song and Singer of the Year, StrayKidz for Stage of the Year, SEVENTEEN with Album of the Year, BSS for Performance of the Year, Lim Young Woong for Fandom of the Year, and Lee Jun Ho for the Actor of the Year.
Arena up in Fighting
If there’s one thing about BSS you need to know, it’s that they always end the night with a bang. The three members are known for their contagious energy on the stage, which made everyone, even their fellow artists, stand up and dance along with them. And what better way to end something as grand as the Asia Artist Awards than to have this SEVENTEEN sub-group get everyone up on their feet to dance the night away?
