In an exclusive interview with MEGA, Mikka Marcaida shares the products she used for Angelica’s bridal makeup, as well as her deeper connection with the actress beyond her beauty looks

And for actress Angelica Panganiban’s New Year’s Eve wedding, she gathered her trusted family, friends, and loved ones to share the special day with her. This included her longtime makeup artist and friend, Mikka Marcaida.

Over the years, Marcaida has long been part of the veteran star’s professional and personal life. From the actress’ showbiz engagements to her very own baby shower and maternity shoot, the makeup artist was present not only as a member of the glam team, but also as a true friend for the actress. Of course, she didn’t dare miss another milestone in Panganiban’s life—her wedding. In an exclusive interview with the creative, Mikka shared to MEGA how she achieved Angelica’s natural bridal glow and how their actual friendship beyond work started.
A pure beauty look
Mikka described Angelica’s bridal look as “pure beauty.” How? Through a no-lashes-and-contacts look. “We would always joke around [about] what we’ll go for on the day,” Marcaida recalled. According to the actress, it was supposed to be, “Gusto ko mapapaiyak si Gregg sa ganda!” But on the actual day, Angelica just had one response. “Alam mo na ‘yun,” she said.
Prepping Mrs. Homan’s skin, she started off with La Mer skincare products then proceeded with a subtle contour and highlight using the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Contour Duo. For the bride’s groomed and brushed up brows, she used GRWM’s Browlift gel. Sealing the deal with the lips, Mikka used three products. First, she added a base using a Vice Cosmetics Lip Liner. Next, she applied more color using the Sunnies Face Fluffmate in the shade Soft Serve. Topping it all off was a Kiko Milano lip gloss. According to the makeup artist, they set the false eyelashes and contacts asides to focus on the bride’s natural features.
Keeping all things natural
Marking Angelica’s wedding as a full circle moment of sorts for their friendship, Mikka also shared how their relationship began. “I met [her] in a bar when she was heartbroken,” she explained. “We never talked about work. I didn’t know if she knew that I was a makeup artist. Months after that, she hired me to do her promotions for her movie. The rest is history. She [has become] my muse since then.”
Concluding the interview with her take on bridal makeup, Marcaida revealed, “Bridal makeup may seem easy to do. But honestly, it’s simply a more bespoke kind of makeup service. We’ll always take [into] consideration what our client wants, what she’s going for, and most of all, what will make her the happiest bride.”
