In an exclusive interview with MEGA, Kathryn Bernardo’s stylists talked about the creative process of the actress’ red carpet look

To take us through the journey of one’s preparation, Kimi and Boop Yap, Kathryn Bernardo’s stylists for the ABS-CBN Ball, share how the actress’ red carpet look came to be.

For this year’s ball, the 27-year-old opted to go for a powerful look. It was all about the clean and sleek style, and it was a nod to the actress’ desire to step outside her comfort zone. The stylists shared, “We would like to describe her gown as modern and forward. It reflects her willingness to push boundaries in terms of fashion, film, and her career in general.”
Ever-so-hands-on with her work, the A Very Good Girl star was an integral part of the creative process when it came to the dress. The actress and stylists opted to collaborate with Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner since the style was very much aligned with his brand’s DNA. It was the ideal partnership that had Kathryn’s personal inputs, Kim and Boop Yap’s style profiency, and Mark’s eye for detail.

When it came to the look, the stylists expressed that the whole design process was easygoing. After just one meeting with Mark and his team, they immediately got the sense of what ensemble they were going for. In the end, Kim and Boop declared that this is their favorite look of the actress for the ABS-CBN Ball thus far.
She debuted her chic bob hair with a sultry embellished piece that is the epitome of modern elegance. The fitted metallic dress featured a daring cutout that revealed the actress’ toned physique, whereas the bodice was cut right below the bust. It had a high neck while sparkling crystals adorned the shoulders and torso, which cascaded down to the skirt. For accessories, she finished it off with a pair of diamond tier earrings.
To balance out the sultry style, her hair and makeup was done in a natural finish for a fresh look. The makeup highlighted actress’ features, while the newly cut bob added a contemporary touch.
