Womanhood is coming for Andrea Brillantes, and she is ready for it. Her powerful entrance at the ABS-CBN Ball 2023, with her back turned then facing forward, is a statement. She is ready to leave the old her behind. And tonight, we welcome her coming of age in red.

In an exclusive interview with stylist Eldzs Mejia, he captured the meaning behind Blythe’s look. “From the color to the silhouette, it is a celebration of her independence.” The Michael Leyva ensemble did not stop at the bold, red color for heads to turn. The whole frock was bejeweled, with a strategic trifolded draping for that wave of accent. “She’s more confident and sure of herself,” the stylist pointed out. “I’d like to say this is her reintroducing herself. [This is] the reintroduction of Andrea Brillantes.”
With an affinity for classic, old Hollywood glam, Blythe went for a side-parted mane with volume in curls. That one-eyed fringe effect? It feels like we are being told that she has more on her sleeve for us to look forward to.
Blythe on fire
“At the end of the day, Blythe and I make sure we deliver. Sometimes, the process takes a bit longer or we have different ideas in mind, and there can be a bit of push and pull,” the stylist opened up. “But that’s because we’re both extra passionate about what we want to come up with.”
Going fire after fire with the rest of her glam, she played with bloody shades of red, as seen on her nails and lips. Sealing her new side are her ruby teardrop necklace and dangling earrings. It is no secret that her journey in show business is not a smooth sailing ride, but in her new era, we are seeing a more mature Blythe who is free from the reins of a man next to her. And for that, we can’t help but admire her even more.
