Adidas breaks the bounds of high fashion once again with their collaboration with Balenciaga
Sportswear and luxury fashion, a peculiar collaboration that has been hitting the fashion landscape for quite some time now. We have seen designs that blur the lines between athleisure wear and high-end aesthetics which then introduced the market to a new look suitable for those who value comfort over style.
And in their constant effort to break the bounds of high fashion, Adidas enters the world of luxury once again as they collaborate with Balenciaga.
Launching just today, the ready-to-wear collection explores the creative codes of Balenciaga and Adidas as seen on their outerwear, shoes, and accessories. With Balenciaga’s high-edge and minimalist style combined with Adidas’ youthful aesthetic, we can see a rather playful side of the luxury fashion house in this collaboration.
A simplistic combination of icons takes over the collection as it utilizes Adidas’ staple trefoil that’s placed on top of Balenciaga’s typography. It’s seen across their tees and bags while the three strips cascades their sweaters bottoms.
Balenciaga stays true to their iconic style with the use of layering in their clothing, as well as the classic minimalist structure in their shoes, which is evident on a pair of Stan Smiths.
