Bally ushers in an era of enduring success and creative innovation with a new creative director, Spring-Summer collection, and global ambassador
Throughout history, Bally has left indelible marks in producing luxury goods, from some of the most beautiful and well-made shoes and leather accessories to stylish bags and sophisticated ready-to-wear collections. With its exceptional craftsmanship, timeless elegance, and an array of designs, they’ve long withstood the test of time.
The Swiss luxury fashion house combines style and functionality while staying true to its brand heritage. Now, they’ve set the standards for timeless glamor—unparalleled style for any occasion. Further reinforcing this legacy and vision is the brand’s new Creative Director, Simone Bellotti.
A new role for the future
Bally is in the middle of a significant transformation under CEO Nicolas Girotto, and Simone Bellotti hopes to bring freedom of spirit and passion to this strategic direction. Bellotti’s appointment is, without a doubt, the most logical decision, as he’s already worked alongside the design studio team in the past year.
In fact, he also has an excellent track record with several luxury brands, most of which he held senior design positions. As Bally mentioned, Bellotti has “a deep understanding of both ready-to-wear tailoring and accessories craftsmanship.”
With his extensive design experience, Bellotti will interpret the Swiss label’s rich heritage and coordinate all the company’s design activities.
“It is a great honor to be appointed Bally’s Creative Director and trusted with contributing to Bally’s extraordinary legacy,” Bellotti said in a statement. “The house’s unique Swiss heritage, coupled with its beautiful history rooted in a pioneering spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence, is a powerful inspiration.”
Purity meets playfulness
Months after Bellotti’s succession in his new role, he welcomed guests to the Chiostro di San Simpliciano (The Basilica of San Simpliciano) in Milan for Bally’s Spring Summer 2024 show. The garden opened up a world of textures, colors, and fabrics that speak the language of Swiss versatility and history.
Drawing inspiration from Monte Verità, a sanctuary for the free spirits and creative minds of the 20th century in Ascona, Switzerland, Bellotti’s “Sketch of Summer” collection pursues holistic communion with nature. This enclave, with a blend of the bespoke sounds of DJ Leo Mas, echoes the carefree abandon that resonates from the “Summer of Love” in 1987.
In this presentation, Bellotti paints a picture where masculine and feminine elements coalesce, reflecting the layered complexities of human nature. With it comes a dance of duality in colors, where Swiss red, cobalt, and chartreuse flash against a palette of washed neutrals. This collection reimagines archetypes, silhouettes, and clothes to explosive volumes and discreet charms.
A fresh new face
With a new Creative Director, collection, and direction, Bally continues to move across the globe to look at the evolution of the future market. This time, they’ve set their sights to the East, where K-pop stars continue to dominate and top the music charts. SEVENTEEN’s main vocalist, DK, is one of those in this global phenomenon who stood out for his casual elegance that reflects his confidence and laid-back nature, catching the attention of Bally.
Beyond singing, DK’s captivating visuals resonated with his stylish and diverse fashion. From his cool, casual fits of graphic and button-down shirts and denim jeans to his sophisticated suits, this idol is unafraid to experiment with new styles and trends. Capturing the spirit of contemporary fashion in sync with that of the brand, DK now joins Bally as their newest global ambassador.
To mark the singer’s collaboration, Bally released his new images exuding effortless class in an Instagram announcement post, donning brown corduroy pants and a varsity jacket adorned with a reptile-patterned trim. In another layout, DK goes for relaxed-cut black jeans, a nod to his love for denim pants, paired with a graphic tee and a white shawl collar cardigan sweater, embodying the versatile essence of Bally.
The K-pop star expressed gratitude for this opportunity: “I am incredibly honored to be appointed Bally’s ambassador and embody the values of a brand that has a passion for artistry, excellence, and innovation.”
