With women being as strong as ever, Barbie has decided to honor International Women’s Day by creating doll versions of ‘Sheroes’ from around the world.
These incredible women who have been turned into dolls include Ashley Graham, director Patty Jenkins, gold medalist Chloe Kim, chef Hélène Darroze and Bindi Irwin.
In addition to featuring these modern-day heroes, Barbie also launching a new collection called Inspiring Women, which include our favorite women from history. The first three dolls will be Frida Kahlo and Katherine Johnson.
“As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women’s Day, because we know that you can’t be what you can’t see,” shares Lisa McKnight, SVP and GM of Barbie. “Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie, and we are thrilled to shine a light on real-life role models to remind them that they can be anything,” she adds.
In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, we are committed to shining a light on empowering female role models past and present in an effort to inspire more girls.
