The highly anticipated crossover project between GMA and ABS-CBN is gaining momentum after some of its lead actors received acting awards
Excitement is building for the first tv series of the historical partnership between the two network giants in the Philippine entertainment industry. And recent awards received by its stars only added fuel to the fire. While the buzz surrounding this series is already at an all-time high, Joshua Garcia and Jodi Sta. Maria were lauded for their acting performances in Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin, respectively.
Joshua Garcia brought home the title of Best Single Performance by an Actor for an MMK episode titled “Life Sketch.” Together with seasoned actors Shamaine and Nonie Buencamino, the Kapamilya actor gave a stellar performance as Maro in ABS-CBN’s top-rated drama anthology.
Jodi Sta. Maria earned the prestigious Best Drama Actress recognition for her performance as Marissa Pineda in the revenge-drama series, Ang Sayo Ay Akin. She was also joined by fellow actors Sam Milby, Iza Calzado, Maricel Soriano, and Rita Avila. It can also be recalled that Jodi Sta. Maria is the first Filipina actress to win Best Actress at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for playing the role of Dr. Jill Illustre in Broken Marriage Vow.
These two actors who have received recognition for their outstanding performances in portraying their previous roles are sure to bring their A game to the anticipated TV series, Unbreak My Heart. With such a talented cast and a promise to bring the best of both networks to the show, fans are counting down the days until they can witness the epic premiere.
According to reports, cast members of Unbreak My Heart are gearing up to fly to Switzerland, where a number of the show’s highlight scenes are to be shot within the country’s beautiful landscapes. GMA and ABS-CBN are working with Dreamscape Entertainment and Viu Philippines as they aim to reach more audiences worldwide for the show’s 2023 premiere.
