Campy couples have conquered the pink carpet at The Met.
Camp has completely taken over The Met as the second Monday of May 2019 arrives. Among those who walked the pink carpet are 7 adorable couples who have their own interpretations of what camp is. From the Jenners to Riverdale stars, here are the best dressed pairs at the 2019 Met Gala.
Kylie & Kendall Jenner
Whether it’s Cher or the Ugly Step Sisters from Cinderella who inspired the siblings, it’s no doubt that they both stunned at the pink carpet. Twinning with feathered Versace dresses. Kylie turns to purple hues as Kendall fires it up with orange.
Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas
The Red Queen meets The Godfather with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Met Gala looks in Dior. Complete with a fake mustache, Nick escorted Priyanka’s Red Queen inspired look down the pink carpet and needless to say, they’re off for everyone’s heads (Jared Leto must keep his own hidden somewhere).
RuPaul & Georges LeBar
While a lot have expected Mr. Charles to appear in complete drag, he opted for a much simpler ensemble as he walks down the pink carpet with spouse Georges LeBar. Glimmering in custom hot pink zebra-striped neon vinyl and sequined suit with an ostrich feathered zebra mane by Zaldy, Ru took a simpler take on the camp theme.
Lili Reinhart & Cole Sprouse
A little bit of Marie Antoinette and a dash of Dr. Seuss, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse are the campiest couple at the 2019 Met Gala, both in Salvatore Ferragamo. The two’s contrasting yet complementing details have proven to us that they’re not just about their campy series, Riverdale. They can take campy on the pink carpet as well.
J-Lo & A-Rod
Dripped in diamonds and matching the pink carpet, J-Lo and A-Rod respectively stunned the crowd at The Met. Sparkling in Versace, Jennifer Lopez completed her look with a 129.48-carat purple sapphire necklace and diamond necklace by Harry Winston. Matching her eyeshadow is A-Rod’s lilac tux.
Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas
Making their debut as a married couple, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas appear at the pink carpet together in coordinated geometrics from Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière.
Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen
All dressed up in leather Chanel Couture, the Olsen twins added their own feel and twist to the theme. It may not be as campy as we’d expect, but the two still strut in style at the pink carpet. Standing out from the sea of pink was Ashley’s touch of gold within her leather number and Mary Kate’s two-piece ensemble.
