A lot of the best dressed stars reminded us of some of our favorite local designers. See our rundown of the most fashionable stars and their elegant ensembles’ local counterparts after the jump:
(Left) Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein (Right) Trouser Dress by Mark Bumgarner
Social media definitely had a lot of feelings towards Saoirse Ronan and Lady Bird not winning an Oscar but apart from the snub, what got us talking was her dainty blush number at the red carpet. The young actress perfectly embodied spring from head to toe as she kept it monochromatic down to the shoe. It reminded us a lot of this Mark Bumgarner ensemble but taken up a notch with trousers.
(Left) Rosenthal Tee Gown (Right) Lupita Nyong’o in Versace
Black Panther star, Lupita Nyong’o always looks radiant on the red carpet but she looked especially glowing in a brilliant black-and-gold dress courtesy of Vibranium by Versace, channeling the blockbuster film’s visual aesthetic. This metallic number made us think of this glamorous Rosenthal Tee piece with gold accents and an added tulle train for an equally-majestic gown.
(Left) Gal Gadot in Givenchy (Right) Erich Gonzales in feather dress by Jun Escario
Turning heads the minute she stepped in, Wonder Woman star, Gal Gadot was every bit as striking as her heroine character in her silver Givenchy dress. But the look wouldn’t be complete without glimmering jewels from Tiffany & Co. The geometric accessories perfectly complemented her Art Deco-inspired ensemble. To us, there was a resemblance of the subtly embellished feather dress by Jun Escario
(Left) Taraji P. Henson in Vera Wang (Right) Black Tulle Dress by Francis Libiran
Taking Angelina Jolie’s iconic slit dress up a notch, Taraji P. Henson took on the evening in a custom Vera Wang gown. The piece was a black hand-draped french tulle dress with an illusion keyhole neckline, sheer back and dramatic draped sleeves accented by a high front slit. The actress definitely asserted that you can rock a sexy dress at any age. The black tulle reminded us of a look from Francis Libiran—an empire dress with an irregular neckline, accompanied by felt cones and embellished with cut beads.
(Left) Nicole Kidman in Armani Privé (Right) Kim Chiu in high slit gown by Michael Leyva
If Nicole Kidman planned to steal the show then she succeeded in doing exactly that. The Big Little Lies Star stepped out in a navy blue gown by Armani Privé featuring an oversized bow at the waist and a slit in the middle. If there’s anyone who knows the power of a stunning navy hue, it’s Michael Leyva, especially with this thigh-high slit gown he created worn by Kim Chiu.
(Left) Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton (Right) Embellished Top and Classic Black Trouser by Rosenthal Tee
In a sea of dresses, Emma Stone marched to a different beat. The actress sported a silk Louis Vuitton suit—opting for a pair of black trousers and a red blazer complete with a pink bow tied around her waist and sparkly earrings. On the note of chic classic trousers, this outfit designed by Rosenthal Tee is another pants ensemble that’s worthy of showing off at the red carpet.
