With the music magazine expanding its reach to the Philippines, the platform for Filipino talent only grows bigger and better
Music is always part of the equation when one talks about the Philippines. Since time immemorial, the country has always been the home of outstanding belters and world class performers. From kababayans joining international competitions to artists and groups like Ylona and SB19 flying all over different parts of the world to share their passion for performing, there is no denying that OPM is here to stay and that it can make a mark everywhere. With the immense talent that each Filipino has to offer, it is only right and high time that we conquer the world. And with Billboard Philippines coming our way, Filipino music and entertainment will surely take the world by storm.

The global music brand that hosts the highly-anticipated Top 100, 200, and Global 200 charts will bring their trusted voice of authority to the Philippines, alongside countries like China, Japan, Argentina, Vietnam, Italy, and Georgia. This initiative stems from Billboard‘s pursuit of bringing a wider scope of news, trends, and reviews to the media industry.
But more than its charts and updates for all things tunes, part of Billboard‘s mission is to offer more space and recognition for Filipino artists not just in the country, but also in different parts of the globe. “AGC Power Holdings Corp (AGC PHC) has decided to bring Billboard to the Philippines to fill a gap in the local media industry,” Archie Carrasco, CEO of AGC PHC, pointed out. “Billboard‘s expertise in music, coupled with our local knowledge and resources, will allow us to create unique content and showcase talent to help take Filipino music to the next level.”
Furthermore, COO of Modern Media Group Inc. Anne Bernisca emphasized the connection of the brand to Filipinos’ innate love for music. “It’s about time we shine a spotlight on our local artists and bring OPM to a wider, global audience.”
With Billboard Philippines landing on our shores very soon, a bigger audience will get to enjoy our folk-laced rhythms, clever rap flows, fun pop tunes, and soulful rock arrangements. Best expressing this thrilling news, Billboard President Mike Van said, “We are excited to contribute to the vibrant music scene in the Philippines by sharing its stories, talents, and achievements with the rest of the world. Our expansion into the Philippine market presents an incredible opportunity to connect with a new audience and to further our mission of providing the most comprehensive and insightful coverage of the music industry worldwide. We believe that our presence in the Philippines will help to foster a new era of creativity, collaboration, and success for the music industry in the region and beyond.”
