After a year’s postponement, the 57th Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant finally graced our screens last night, July 12. And it wasn’t just the queens who stole the show.
Hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves, the night was lit up by 34 queens coming from different parts of the country.
Making sure that the pageant is molded by the country’s greatest, the judges’ lineup had a variety of celebrities, former beauty queens, and notable names in the fashion industry.
Last night’s esteemed panelists included Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Kylie Versoza, Rajo Laurel, Pinky Webb, Ever Bilena Cosmetics CEO Dioceldo Sy, Department of Tourism Usec. Benito Bengzon Jr, and Novotel’s Maria Garcia.

Meanwhile, Masbate’s Hannah Arnold took home the crown and won hearts with her passionate Q&A entry on free speech in the country.
“Free of speech is a basic human right that we all must remember. And it is important for a democracy. And for our upcoming elections, we definitely need free speech,” Hannah acclaimed. “For example, on Twitter, we are limited to a few characters, and what I have seen from these tweets has been powerful and it has helped me think about who I will vote for in this elections.”
