Releasing their 2021 lineup of luxury watches, Omega brings back the past for a historic update on their iconic Seamaster 300.

In the ranks with the greatest Swiss watch companies, Omega’s Seamaster 300 is a household name in the world of diving watches. First launched in 1957, the brand stayed leading-edge with their patented co-axial movement, which is one of the most important contributions to horological history. And with the recent release of their 2021 collection, the Seamaster 300 looks back to the past to craft modern-day historic timepieces you can wrap around your wrist.

Bronze Is The New Gold
Two years in the making, Omega has been developing its own hybrid alloy from copper, gold, silver, and palladium – the “Bronze Gold” that makes the new Seamaster 300 watch worthy of first place. A unique feature of bronze metal is that it ages beautifully as it takes on patina. The more the watch is worn, the more character it takes on, and despite its vintage look, the patina bronze protects it from any damage. A reason why old bronze diving helmets don’t corrode in saltwater and the new Seamaster 300 won’t either. Omega is assured that the alloy’s slower fade and unique hue is what makes it a worthy to collector’s piece.
Other updates include a cleaner dial with only the words “Omega” and “Seamaster” displayed, while the “Co-Axial Master Chronometer” is now at the back. It also features vintage-style open Arabic numerals with the reintroduction of the lollipop design from 1959 on the central-seconds hand. The “sandwich dial” technique is then applied so that the base layer is painted with glow-in-the-dark luminova. The strap and the clasp have both been slimmed down but the dial opening is enlarged to 30.4 mm from 29.5 m, which makes this latest watch look larger on the wrist.
Black On Black
To signify the darkest trenches of the ocean, the Seamaster Diver 300M now comes with an all-black design from dial to strap. The pro Seamaster line was first released in 1993 for watches that are specifically made to be used in the depths of water and for the latest version, it takes advantage of ceramic material. The ceramic material is responsible for its contrasting shades and 43.5 mm case that features the Super-LumiNova which allows it to be legible even in the dark. All the details from the minute track to the OMEGA logo are also laser-ablated for a finesse sculptural look.
Simple Refinement
OMEGA may be known for its advanced sport watches but for those who prefer the uncomplicated, the De Ville Trésor Power Reserve line represents the brand’s dress-oriented side. Elegant and minimal, this classic timepiece shows the simplicity in refinement while still being able to offer the Master Chronometer standard. Its latest version, retained its well-known slim design but is enhanced with a new subdial display. On all of its 40 mm watches, it includes a small seconds display at the 6th hour, while some models also feature a Power Reserve display at the 12th hour.
With the two new positionings of the two subdials, the OMEGA logo has been transferred. It also has domed dials, one in an 18K yellow gold model with a grey leather strap, while the 18K Sedna gold model features a burgundy leather strap with a domed burgundy lacquered dial. The De Ville Trésor line is enough proof that OMEGA is an all-around watch house that offers both quality core sporting models and classic formal timepieces.
Ticket To The Moon
As their Speedmaster watch is the first-ever timepiece that landed on the moon, Omega celebrated their shared history with NASA through a range of space-inspired Velco straps to fulfill one’s childhood astronaut dreams. The Speedmaster Moonwatch Velco straps come in three colors: black, white, and silver.
The 20 mm straps are made with the OMEGA’s Master Chronometer certified Moonwatch in mind but it can be paired with any other timepiece. The Velcro design was also chosen for its versatility so that it can be worn for sport, work, and even spacewalks.
