For the fifth anniversary, the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder celebrates her win with three looks resembling her winning fiery dress by Mak Tumang.
Among those, one was inspired by Ibong Adarna, our national mythical creature that rises from the ashes, in a sheer dress covered only with orange feathers by designer Dia Ali. Another pays homage to Mount Mayon, an ode to her mother’s hometown, as she wears a black bodysuit with black sheer leggings, with the addition of a neckpiece and latex gloves by Job Dacon. And finally, one in the form of a blazing fire with a melting lava appearance created with artificial intelligence by Vince Uy.
These ensembles embody the essence of fire elements, both in a literal and figurative sense. They symbolize rising from the ashes, experiencing renewal, and becoming whole again. They exude confidence, overflowing to radiate a brighter presence on the stage. Made with the intention to conquer, they are designed to captivate the attention of the universe.
As she celebrates the five-year milestone since her crowning, it’s not just a commemoration of a title won; it’s a recognition of a legacy built. The Miss Universe 2018 titleholder serves as an inspiration for future beauty queens, emphasizing that true beauty lies not just in appearances, but in the positive impact one can make on the world. Catriona Gray continues to burn brighter, and stronger than ever, proving that a queen’s reign can extend the boundaries of a crown.
