Sabato De Sarno’s Gucci debut leaves a reset impression to the general public with an emphasis on back-to-basics, and these names carry the codes with them at the show
After its era of printed flamboyance and playful flair, Gucci returns to its core codes with Sabato De Sarno’s leadership in the House’s Fashion Show 2024 for Milan Fashion Week. While the connection to its predecessor is still injected with bright greens, oranges, and lavenders, broad shoulders and luxury lounge style dominated the runway.

At the Milan Fashion Week, a number of celebrities graced the Gucci Hub donning the refreshed silhouettes of the Maison. From the horsebit and GG Monogram iterations to the burgundy red dripping from their styles, here are the stars that could’ve walked De Sarno’s runway, too.
Julia Roberts
The actress went for form and function at the event, a present aspect to the outerwear of Ancora. With the transition of the House to a cleaner slate, you can never go wrong with something classic, such as a coordinated blazer and shorts.
Kendall Jenner
The fashion model graced the occasion with her beau, Bad Bunny, in a beige trench coat, a staple shade to the brand. Bringing some statement to her attendance were her burgundy red pumps and Jackie bag.
Daisy Edgar-Jones
Minimalist bling and maximalist skin are the new structure of the Gucci LBD. While the actual runway pieces had a hint of magenta and tiled crystal embellishments, Daisy’s had a quiet, clean touch to it.
Lee Jung-jae
The actor incorporated the basic structure of menswear with staple pieces in his outfit. To add dynamic dimension to the whole ensemble, Lee layered two shades of blue with his top, and went for beige print-on-print with his trousers and bag.
Paul Mescal
A relaxed and dapper gentleman in the show, Mescal balanced his look with a white cardigan and structured slacks. The unbuttoned top reflected the new, calmer breath of styling that De Sarno reflects in his collection.
Ryan Gosling
Keeping it subdued yet striking, the actor wore a black ensemble with accent horsebit applique that screamed nothing but Gucci.
Jessica Chastain
The actress kept it simple with the collective choice of black in her pieces, a deliberate choice to make her green and red necklace shine through her whole look.
NEWJEANS’ Hanni
While the House’s codes are older than the Gucci ambassador, she gives a fresh take to them with her statement cropped top, leather maxi skirt, and maroon kitten heels.
Alexandra Shipp
Wearing several codes from the House, Alexandra kept her look clean, crisp, and concise with her beige Gucci pieces for the Milan Fashion Week.
Chiara Ferragni
Bralettes were a highlight in the Gucci Ancora show, and the fashion blogger and businesswoman made sure to bring that into her own outfit with her red monogram piece.
