The crown is definitely much sweeter the second time around.
Pasay City’s Celeste Cortesi will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe pageant, succeeding Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez. The 24-year-old is already a title holder as she has won as Miss Earth Philippines back in 2018. In tonight’s event, she also bagged the Miss Photogenic award.
Along with Cortesi, the four women in the top five were hailed with their respective titles: Makati’s Michelle Dee for Tourism; Bohol’s Pauline Amelinckx for Charity; Misamis Oriental’s Annabelle McDonnell as the 1st Runner-Up; and Taguig’s Ma. Katrina Llegado for 2nd Runner-Up.
The event was hosted by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow. The reigning Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu was also present in the event.
