International singing sensation Celine Dion fell in love with her Manila audience last night, the second and final night of the Manila leg of her Asian tour.
“The concert is actually over”, she said. But the diva, whose stellar career has spanned almost 30 years, couldn’t get herself to leave the stage. She had just sung her encore, the theme from Titanic, but the pull of the audience was so strong it kept her glued to the spotlight.
Finally, she said that music and love were two things that she had in common with this audience that she had just met for the first time, and she wanted to thank Manila in her own way.
She then sang “Cant Help Falling in Love” a cappella, a song made popular by Elvis Presley, with the audience participating! When she sang “Shall I Stay?”, the crowd roared “yes!”. And when she said “Would it be a sin?”, the crowd screamed “No!” Almost a month into her Asian Tour that started in Japan in June, Celine Dion was given a taste of why it is, indeed, “more fun in the Philippines”.
