Our last angel finally got her much deserved Hollywood Walk of Fame star this morning.
16 years since their last film, the cast of ‘Charlie’s Angels’ was out in full throttle to support Lucy Liu. At her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, her two co-stars Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz both attended to honor her.
And if that wasn’t enough, Demi Moore, who played fallen angel Madison Lee in ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle‘, gave a speech dedicated to Liu. “Lucy and I first met in ‘Charlie’s Angels’. And I could see that she was, in fact, as I had heard, a badass with brains,” she said. “Then the better I got to know her, I realized she wasn’t just a badass with brains. She was a badass with brains, a beautiful heart with a deeply loving soul, and a damn good sense of humor.”
Lucy Liu is also known for helping various charitable organizations. One of which is UNICEF. That’s why it’s really no wonder that she truly is a heaven-sent angel. But more than this, Lucy is undoubtedly a role model for the next generation for giving remarkable representation and inclusivity on tv and film.
“Sometimes people talk about my mainstream successes as groundbreaking for an Asian. But Asians have been making movies for a long time. They just weren’t making them here, because we weren’t yet invited to the table,” she explained. “[So] if my body of work somehow helped bridge the gap between stereotypical roles first given to anime and mainstream success today, I am thrilled to have been part of the process.”
According to Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez, “when we place Walk of Fame stars, we love to juxtapose Hollywood’s Golden Age icons with the role models who represent the exciting shifts taking place in the film industry whenever we can.”
As the star was finally unveiled, the cast of Charlie’s Angels assembled one last time. And just like that, they gave us an angelic reunion of our much beloved elite crime-fighting team. The angels looked impeccably stunning as they donned their own summer-ready ensemble—from a flowy dress to a tailored number.
