At the Miss Universe 2024 press conference following Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig win, Manalo was officially crowned as Miss Universe Asia, an honor that isn’t just a feather in her cap, or dress. With this title, the Bulakenyo beauty now holds the privilege and responsibility of serving as an ambassador for Asia, alongside Matilda Wirtavuori from Finland, who will represent Europe and the Middle East, Tatiana Calmell from Peru for the Americas, and Miss Universe 2024 First Runner-up Chidimma Adetshina from Nigeria for Africa and Oceania.
While Manalo’s time on the Miss Universe stage may have been short-lived—she made it to the Top 30—her role as Miss Universe Asia gives her a whole new platform to shine. While she wasn’t able to make her grand runway entrance, the beauty queen still carried the grace of a queen, donning the feathered gown designed by Manny Halasan. The Tiffany blue gown adorned with ostrich feathers showcased her regal elegance, even if it didn’t get its deserved moment. Maybe next time, but for now, she’s got Asia covered.
As the continental queen of Asia, Manalo’s mission now is to advocate for the region she represents, using her newfound platform to connect, inspire, and influence. From environmental sustainability to empowering women, the challenges and opportunities in Asia are vast and varied, and Manalo is more than ready to take them on.
Chelsea Manalo’s new role as Miss Universe Asia is just the beginning. With her poise and dedication, she’s sure to inspire the masses across her continent. When you wear the title of a queen, it’s not about the stage you stand on—it’s about the impact you make. With Miss Universe Philippines 2024 leading the way, the future looks bright for Asia.
