Jodi Sta. Maria
The wonders of the mind and one’s psyche is a complex study – and Jodi Sta. Maria has definitely worked long and hard to earn her Psychology degree!
The 38-year-old star took to Instagram to announce that she had finished her thesis defense on June 5, and proceeded to post her graduation photo on June 23.
“Success comes to those who want it. And sometimes you have to ask yourself “how much do I want this?” she had captioned. “Remember, it is never too late, and you are never too old to reach your stars.”

Beauty AND brains! The 2010 Miss Universe Philippines shared that she recently finished her undisclosed course in The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA). OCCA is a “fully independent, UK-based ministry” located in England.
Venus shared that the education was a ” journey of testing faith, delighting in God’s presence, enjoying fellowships, increasing knowledge, having meaningful conversations, discovering gifts, empowering opportunities, revisiting struggles, and gaining life-long friends.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that the beauty queen has pursued higher education, as she finished her Master’s in Community Development from the University of the Philippines back in 2017.
Giselle Töngi-Walters (G Töngi)
Another inspiring feat! The 43-year-old actress also graduated this June with a Nonprofit Management from the Antioch University in Los Angeles, California.
“Graduate school in a pandemic was certainly unexpected and challenging but somehow here we are…we made it to the finish line!” the former host and radio jockey shared in her inspiring Instagram post. She also celebrated her virtual commencement exercises with her family in America.
Alfred Vargas
The actor took to social media that he had completed his Master in Public Administration at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance.
“Earning a degree in these challenging times is a valuable personal journey,” Alfred shared. “Ang hirap. Minsan pakiramdam ko pasakit na sa dami ng aking ibang tungkulin labas sa pagiging estudyante. But we know that nothing good comes easy.”
With the degree being a stepping stone in his journey to being a public servant for Quezon City, he furthered: “Ngayon, paiigtingin pa natin ang pagtugon sa hamon ng buhay at tawag ng serbisyo.”
