Matthew M. Williams, the visionary behind Givenchy’s direction since June 2020, bids farewell as Creative Director, steering the brand toward an exciting evolution. The now-former creative director‘s departure marks a pivotal moment, emphasizing the ever-shifting landscape of the fashion industry. Having decided to pivot, he has dedicated himself to the evolution of his brainchild, 1017 ALYX 9SM, effective January 1, 2024.
Under Williams’ guidance, the house redefined its aesthetic, introducing standout pieces like the “U-Lock” jacket and the “Voyou” bag. These creations revitalized the brand and solidified the brand’s standing as a dominant force in the fashion landscape, notably thriving in vital markets such as the United States and Japan.
