Demi Lovato says she struggles with body positivity just like so many of her Lovatics fan base.
We have always known the 25-year-old Demi Lovato to be refreshingly honest about her struggles with her fans. Recently, the singer has brought up another issue many of us can surely relate to.
On a photo shoot recently, Lovato tweeted that she was feeling “gross,” saying:
Feeling gross today at a photo shoot but I’m choosing to accept what I see because I love myself for who I am and your love and support gets me through moments like this. 🙏🏼 if you’re struggling as well, don’t forget.. if I can do it, you can too!

No longer depriving myself of treats (in moderation) and I’m not gonna lie, I put on a couple lbs since I’ve given up dieting BUT I’ve given up the chronic stress of what I eat because I don’t want to set that example for my fans. No more food shaming myself!!

In a tweet that followed, the singer shared that she has quit dieting recently (something some of us might not imagine ourselves to do) to rid herself of the “chronic stress” she experienced with food. For someone who has been having battles with eating disorders, this is a huge step that will surely inspire many.
Lovato obviously seems to be in a much better place these days, even if she admits to putting on a little weight since giving up dieting. In a world where everyone is obsessed with following the latest diet to stay fit, truly loving your body is an important reminder. By putting a stop to “food shaming” herself, she inspires us all to have a healthier and more forgiving mindset when it comes to our bodies.
