Shanti Dope
Before her bubblegum pop princess era, Sabrina graced Manila donning her best street style. She and Filipino rapper Shanti Dope performed the song “Almost Love” at the Sunday noontime show ASAP in August 2018, during the former’s run of mall gigs in the country. She initially released the single in June 2018, followed by a music video in July. While the original version did not feature Shanti Dope’s rap part in Filipino, Sabrina and Shanti and released a duet version of the track.
Niana Guerrero
If there is one content creator who consistently blows TikTok every time she releases dance challenges, it’s Niana Guerrero. Not only does she follow the newest trends on TikTok, but she also sets trends for herself. Last year, the TikTok queen surprised everyone with her dance collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter herself, where they danced to the sped up version of “Feather”. As of writing, the dance video reached 23 million views and 2.7 million likes.
Andrea Brillantes
If there was a Filipino celebrity who tops the fangirl agenda, it’s Andrea Brillantes for sure. Case in point? During Sabrina Carpenter’s Emails I Can’t Send tour, the actress had a lovely conversation with the singer-songwriter. When Sabrina herself gave Andrea the chance to interview her, the latter seized the opportunity to tell the singer how her songs had enabled her to overcome many of the heartbreaks she had experienced.
As Sabrina Carpenter’s viral hit songs continue to make waves in the Philippines, these Filipino encounters with the singer show the depth of the country’s affection for Sabrina. One thing is certain—we look forward to more adorable exchanges between the singer and Filipino artists in the future.
