In his latest interview, Diego Loyzaga honestly expressed his regrets on what happened between him and Sofia Andres.
Years after he parted ways with his previous reel-to-real partner Sofia Andres, actor Diego Loyzaga revealed that the actress is his TOTGA, or “the one that got away.” In an interview with actress-vlogger Aiko Melendez, he responded to her question with an explanation.

Throwback to their time
“Ang laki kasi talaga ng pagkakamali ko din kay Sofia,” he expounded. “I wish it didn’t happen. I’m very open about it. I really made a big mistake. I was a kid, 20, 21 years old.”
The host also asked if Diego was happy for his then partner. “Yeah, sobra! I’m so proud, I’m so happy for her. I remember when we were together pa, the things that she has now, ‘yun ‘yung mga binabanggit niya na sana magkaroon siya. She has everything now.”
Their past partnership
In 2014, Andres and Loyzaga were both part of the LizQuen-topbilled series Forevermore. Three years later in 2017, they starred alongside Enzo Pineda, Beauty Gonzalez, and Bianca King in the afternoon teleserye, Pusong Ligaw. They continued to work with each other in their next projects such as Bloody Crayons, and Mama’s Girl.
Back then, the two were open and vocal about their more-than-friends-but-not-official status. According to Andres and Loyzaga, their respective careers were their top priorities. In several interviews, both stars would express their gratitude towards each other for their mutual friendship and trust.
“Itong si Diego, sobrang kilala na ako. Kumbaga kabisado na namin ‘yung isa’t-isa,” the actress once said about his then partner.
Today, both Sofia and Diego have found fulfillment in their respective lives as parents and artists. Last 2020, the actress and her partner, Daniel Miranda, went public with their daughter Zoe. Meanwhile, Loyzaga proudly announced his father role last year through an Instagram post. “The best birthday gift ever,” he wrote, as he was snapped cradling his daughter, Hailey.
