Since opening at Forbestown in BGC two years ago, restaurant Mulberry Door has been a go-to for its impressive selection of comfort food, stemming from its catering arm, nawwTy’s kitchen.

To celebrate Mulberry Door’s second anniversary, entrepreneur Trish Panlilio decided to give back through a series of exciting dinners that was made in collaboration with three other inspirational women entrepreneurs involved with community-based projects. “Instead of the usual festivities, we have decided to collaborate with women, in partnership with friends who support local communities. This is a good idea for them to showcase the local produce they carry whilst giving back to the communities they support,” she shares. Trish has partnered with the following women for this dinner series: Hindy Weber Tantoco of Holy Carabao, Jenny Yrasuegui of Backyard Farms and Jeannie Javelosa of GREAT Women.
Three dinners will take place to highlight each woman-led enterprise. The first on June 18 will feature organic produce from Holy Carabao, the second dinner on August will showcase the local livestock ingredients from Backyard Farms and finally, the culminating dinner on October will showcase the following: masterpieces from select designers that take inspiration from local heritage and a menu that will feature items from both Holy Carabao and Backyard Farms.
Want a sneak peek of what a dinner with them would be like? The first with Hindy Tantoco includes starters of Salad with Pickled Sugar Beets and a Mulberry Dressing, a Zucchini Consomme with Roasted Crisp Corn Kernels, mains that include Cochinillo and a Seafood or Vegan option, and finally, Guava Jam and Grilled Kesong Puti and Ice Cream with a Honey Tuille for afters.
Priced at P7,000/head, the fundraising dinners will benefit each local enterprise’s chosen products. There is SOIL for Hindy Tantoco, Best Buddies Philippines for Jenny Yrasuegui and GREAT Women Stock Purchase Fund for Weavers for Jeannie Javelosa.
