Luxury fashion house Dior takes us back to the 60s with its mod-inspired Spring/Summer 2022 collection, shown during Paris Fashion Week.

Paris Fashion Week has begun, and Dior has already started the much-awaited week with a bang. Showcasing the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri brought out all the colors for Paris.
Reminiscent of the 1960s, the collection was all about mod fashion. With its vibrant colors, bold prints, mini dresses, oversized suits, and a play on color-blocking, the collection is a fashion revolution itself—a re-emergence after a year long of virtual shows. “Something graphic and clean, minimal and positive. Because I think we have to give an optimistic outlook to the future,” Maria Grazia Chiuri spoke of the collection.
Of course, the vibrant pieces fit right into the playful installation that is inspired by a board game. The board game-inspired catwalk was designed by Italian artist Anna Paparatti, who got her inspiration from a pop art game she made in from the same decade. “I think you have to accept that fashion is a game. Like all games, there’s a part that is serious, and a part that is fun,” Maria Grazia Chiuri shared. “People love fashion because it helps them perform in their lives. People dress to represent themselves in the moment, and they are performing in a different way, changing all the time. And the show is the performance of fashion; it’s also a performance art. So, at the end, you have to accept that you want to play this nonsense of a game.”
Truly a must-see show, the attendees were nothing short of star-studded. Among those who are present are actresses Zoey Deutch and Rosamund Pike, and fashion influencers Chiara Ferragni and Aimee Song. Also attending her first show for the fashion house is Dior global ambassador and K-Pop star Jisoo, who made headlines as she wore a Dior Cruise 2022 printed white wool and silk dress, a mini Lady Dior bag, and a pair of Dior heels.
