Set sail with Emporio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2024 Menswear collection as it captures the symbol of freedom and adventure for the contemporary man
There’s a lighthouse at the end of the runway. In this vast space, where the lights are reflective of water’s movement, Emporio Armani invites you on an expedition through maritime excess. Fortunately for the founder and creative director, Giorgio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2024 Menswear collection doesn’t sink, only guiding through the waters in this expansive adventure.

With a mix of male and female models, the collection emphasizes the fluid transition between the masculine and feminine. Navy hats, aviator shades, and zip-up fleece jackets surround the nautical themes. Tailored jackets, reminiscent of surging waves, exhibit broad shoulders while embracing cropped skirts altogether. Trousers, flowing like currents, are cut wide and free, yet meticulously on hold by ankles in place.
Striking a coherent chord, sizable leather gloves and boots in congruent style and structure converge. The infusion of striped details and accents on upper garments is thoughtfully placed, enhancing the sophisticated cohesion of the ensembles and aligning with the theme’s trip into the sea.
The color selection is mainly subtle, of navy and white and off-white and gray; textured when it needs to, but otherwise, smooth. Yet, it seems we go through the day: through beiges and browns, manifested in blazers and shorts, paired with military boots and rope-like detailed belts. It was a safari-on-a-yacht, a side mission that needed to be completed. What is a journey without a few obstacles?
Then, water-meets-sand-meets ice. The runway shifts into an all-white panorama. The skiwear segment makes its presence felt, featuring curated gear—goggles, face masks, and boards—a subtle yet unequivocal affirmation that this marks the dedicated skiwear chapter within the collection.
As the day ends on this exploration—almost like we traveled ourselves—the moment unfolds to revel in eveningwear. The designer unleashes a battalion of sparkling looks, grafting a tastefully feminine outlook onto the bedrock of rather masculine suits, reminding us of the fluidity of these constructs. Each selection, bedecked and adorned with scattered rhinestones, encrustations, and crystals, mirrors the celestial expanse above; a night sky imagined and reflected into the fabric of the show, after a long day’s travel.
Emporio Armani’s FW24 Menswear collection is one with the contemporary man. It aligns with his spirit, amplifies his ideas, and manifests in ways that only the bold can embrace; yet, always retaining a fluidity that mirrors the diverse nature of all men. Here, there are no grand pyrotechnics or bustling harbors needed for anchoring. What truly matters is the essence of the intrepid soul. Who is the contemporary man anyway?
