History’s storey

Espacio Creativo, which literally translates to “creative space,” is a building that has its own charm. You do not get to see a lot of structures like this today: the windows were kept how they were found, even the wear and tears are still there to keep its character.

A white platform was built to make the space look more minimalistic, together with a movable wall with moldings to give creatives background options when shooting. The building’s old, large windows are the main feature of the space, which is perfect for ambient shooting.

The room has soft lighting in the morning until late noon. Sunlight comes in before dusk, which gives the space a golden tint for those dramatic shots. Now, isn’t that a great new concept for your holiday shoot?

Located at the First United Building, formerly known as Perez-Samanillo Building, is an Art Deco building in Escolta Street in Binondo, Manila. It was designed by Andres Luna de San Pedro, the son of renowned painter Juan Luna, and was the tallest building in Manila when it was completed in 1928.

This rental studio is open to both creative pros and beginners who want to express their artistry and produce engaging content. Located in the historic Escolta, Espacio Creativo is close to Manila’s iconic places such as The Jones Bridge, Sta. Cruz Church, and Intramuros, so renters are able to visit these historical places when taking photos in the area.

A shared dream

From corporate to pursuing a life-long passion, friends-turned-business-partners Belg and Giselle established the Manila-based content studio Espacio Creativo. Belg left the corporate world to focus full-time on the creative space and photography, while Giselle juggled being an entrepreneur and a manager at a multinational company.

Their vision is to be the conduit that will inspire content creators to utilize more heritage spaces as their safe creative playground that’s approachable and affordable.

So, are you ready to book a holiday-themed shoot with your family and friends?

Espacio Creativo is located in Unit 417 First United Building, Escolta Street, Manila
